Back-up and Data Security
One of your most valuable assets is the information on your server.  As you would protect any valuable asset, your data needs to be protected as well.

The basic way to protect your data is to back-up the database each and every day. The back-up should be saved on a media that can be removed from the server and either stored in a magnetic media safe or removed from the building. Examples: magnetic tape, CD, removable hard drive, etc.  Another convenient way to store your backup is to subscribe to web based backup service.  These services provide you with software that will automatically upload your data to secured servers at the services site.  Files can easily be downloaded for restore if necessary.  Do a Google or Yahoo search for "Remote Backup" and take a look at some of the services available.

Another way to protect your information is to limit access to the database.  See the Security page for useful tips.
