Installation Requirements:

In order to provide updates and remote customer service, we require the installation of Symantec PcAnywhere and Windows Remote Desktop.

PcAnywhere is used to transfer the updated program and database files from our server to your system. This program must be purchased and is available from any software supplier (Staples, Office Depot, etc.)

Remote Desktop is used while installing updates and activities since the response is faster than PcAnywhere. A limited-user version is included with Windows.

Remote Desktop can also be used for your remote access to your server and the Pacific Apparel System.
Installation Security Recommendations:

We use a high-end fire wall appliance made by Sonic Wall which has a feature called Virtual Private Network (VPN).

For remote connections, both between our systems and your server, or your own remote connection, a VPN connection privides a superior level of security.

A VPN connection is setup in addition to the virus protection that you should install.
